Installation Guide
Roof preparation, fastening and placement
Required surface
Continuous support beneath the metal roofing, using wooden beams at least 1 1/2 inches thick or doubled rows of furring strips where the guards will be fastened.
Fastening
- Cover the entire back of the snow guard base with a non-shrinking sealant, such as ADSEAL4550 by ADFAST or SUPPRA EXPERT by MULCO.
- Fasten the snow guards in the middle of the roof panels using 2-inch #14 (#12) wood screws.
Placement recommendations
- Install the two-tube snow guards in one row along the roof edge, starting approximately 10 inches from the edge.
- Keep the maximum spacing between supports to 24 inches.
- The building owner is responsible for removing excess snow.
